My name is Kory Wilcoxson, and I'm the senior pastor at Community Christian Church. I'm a native Hoosier (Jeffersonville, Ind., near Louisville, Ky.) and graduate of Indiana University. I didn't grow up attending church; it was only in college that I began to explore my faith and develop my relationship with God. After graduating from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, my family and I moved to Lincolnshire in 2001, where I was called to be the associate pastor. After working alongside Rev. Nelson Irving for three years, I was called to move up to senior pastor in June 2004. I enjoy all aspects of ministry, especially the wonderful relationships I'm honored to share with congregation members. I've never experienced a more welcoming, accepting church than CCC. I'm also excited about the growing number of children and youth in our church. CCC has easily become home for my family -- my wife, Leigh, and my daughters Sydney (9) and Molly (3). I hope that you'll visit CCC and experience for yourself how God is working through our church.

Associate Minister

Hello, I am Tim Akers, the Associate Minister at Community Christian Church. I am originally from Robinson, IL where my father served as the Senior Minister and my mother as the Youth Minister of the local Disciples of Christ Congregation. My four siblings and I grew up participating in all facets of church life (youth groups, camps, etc.) It was in junior high that I first felt called to enter Christian Ministry. It was not until high school that I finally responded to that call by saying, "Yes, I will go if you lead me."

I earned a B.A. from Eureka College in Eureka, IL, and in May of 2005 I graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY. In July of 2005 I began serving as the Associate Minister here at CCC. My primary focus is ministering to youth and children, but Kory and I work together with the congregation to guide all the ministries of CCC.

I enjoy building new relationships and sustaining old ones. I believe being in relationship with other people is a key element of ministry, and as followers of Jesus Christ we are all called to serve in ministry. I hope that you will come and visit us at CCC and join us as we continue to build relationships and do the ministry God has called us to do.
