Community Christian Church Mission Trip
to San Augustine, Texas

CCC’s Mission Trip is open to all – we’re hoping that Mission Trip “Alumni” will consider joining us, in addition to your family members far and near, friends old and new. Please come and assist us with disaster relief in Texas as we serve God together. This is a celebration trip – it will be Pip Gledhill’s FIFTEENTH Mission Trip with Community Christian Church – we want everyone to travel and celebrate with us!!
Please contact the church office this week to let us know your level of interest. You can also reserve your space today by filling out the 2018 CCC Mission Trip Participation Commitment Form and turning it in with your $200 deposit before March 1, 2018. We look forward to hearing from you!
The Youth of CCC continue to serve others through mission trips, church events, and many outreach projects. Our goal this year is to build community both physically and emotionally by sharing ourselves while being centered on a loving God. We will share the light of God’s love with everyone we encounter, here at our church home, with our family and friends, even across the nation as we help rebuild what others have lost after hurricanes and flooding last summer.
Through Next Step Ministries, we have confirmed 18 participants, and if there’s availability, we can add more – we’d like to accommodate everyone who wishes to serve with us in San Augustine, Texas from July 29 – Aug 4, 2018. http://nextstepministries.com/san-augustine-texas/
There are four categories of participants:
- Junior High Students – age 11+ or entering the 6thgrade in the fall;
- High School Students – age 14+ or entering the 9thgrade in the fall
- College Students – age 18-25
- Adult chaperones must be age 21+
Typical work on the trip will be mostly Construction (75%), but also some Community Activities/Immersion (10%) and Relational Ministry (15%). Final cost for the trip will be $500.00 – $200.00 as a deposit and the remaining $300.00 could be paid through group &/or individual fundraisers (tap here for more about fundraising). This includes all accommodations, food, work project materials and programming in addition to: van rental; gas; tolls; donations; T-Shirts; lodging, if necessary; outings and activities. Travel to San Augustine will be in vans – probably taking two days to travel the 14+ hour journey. If you’d rather fly there, that will have to be at your own expense, arriving no later than Saturday July 28, and we would need to know right away for planning purposes.
