Honor the Lord with Faithful Giving
October 5, 2009
Dear Members and Friends of CCC,
We are in the midst of exciting times at Community Christian Church. As we look to the end of October, our thoughts and prayers are with Kory, Leigh, Sydney and Molly, for success in their life journey with a new church. At the same time, we look forward to calling a new senior pastor. We can be confident in God's plan for all of us! We have much for which to be thankful, and we look forward to realizing His plan for CCC. We are pleased to announce our stewardship campaign and His call to each of us to "Honor the Lord with Faithful Giving."
Our church has a strong foundation due to the continuing efforts of the leaders who are in place, the dedicated members and friends of CCC, our elders, deacons, program chairs and committee members. While we are in the beginning stages of our search for a new pastor, the 2010 proposed budget identifies needs for the ministries and programs that sustain our congregation and position it for growth. These needs include the costs to maintain our present staff, as well as an interim pastor, until we find a permanent senior pastor. Enclosed is a copy of the preliminary budget for 2010.
The focus of our stewardship campaign this year is on the spiritual nature and biblical teaching about giving. It also relates the giving of our time, talents and resources as one of the best ways we can honor the Lord and strengthen our love and faith in God. While we recognize that our country is in the midst of challenging economic times, as Christians, there is no greater act of love, honor and obedience to God than by giving our time and resources to Him. By making a pledge to CCC, you are expressing a personal statement to God of your love, honor and faith in His work through our church. Luke 6:38 says, "Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Enclosed is your "2010 Pledge Card." As stated in the worship insert (and available on the church website at http://www.ccclincolnshire.org), "An Introduction to Stewardship," the pledges to CCC help the church manage the budgeting process for the upcoming year. Please prayerfully consider your pledge for 2010. As an act of honoring, loving and faithfully serving God, this personal commitment is a statement of how Christ works through our church and through you. Please complete and return the enclosed pledge card to the Financial Secretary or drop in the offering plate by Sunday, October 25th. If you have questions regarding specific details of your pledge, please contact Fred Blakeslee, Financial Secretary. Any questions of a general nature can be answered by any of the members of the Stewardship committee or Finance committee.
